Soul Fighters HQ offers a wide range of martial arts disciplines to suit your training goals and requirements.

Why is the core of our program based in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

It does not rely on strength or size, so is effective against larger and stronger attackers. It is safe because it’s focused on restraint and control rather than striking, and it is considered the most practical and effective self-defense system in the world.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the martial art used in “Bully-Proofing” programs that have been praised by Oprah, CNN, and parents worldwide.

Our kids program is based on a structured curriculum, developed by 6-time World Champion Augusto Tanquinho, which is age specific and battle-tested. It includes techniques, games, drills, and live sparring.

Classes are separated by age:

Ages 4-7 – Little Soul Fighters
Ages 8-13 – Youth Soul Fighters
Ages 14+ can join the regular classes (fundamentals, intermediate, advanced or no-gi depending on their belt level)
Seniors Basic Self-Defense Classes (Discover basic techniques for defending yourself)

    Our Kids Program will also empower your kids to prevent or discourage bullying without violence.     BJJ Fundamentals

    Starting any new sport, much less a martial art, can be difficult. Our fundamental program allows you to learn basics in a very controlled, safe and fun environment. The structured curriculum is designed to effectively introduce all the basics positions, techniques, submissions and escapes. The classes will prepare you for both self-defense and sport Jiu-Jitsu. It will also improve your fitness, balance and coordination. The fundamental program is designed to anyone, male or female, of any body type, fitness level or age (14 or older).

    The classes lays the foundation of knowledge upon which everything else will build. One of the biggest shortcomings of many Jiu-Jitsu academies is a lack of such comprehensive system. Our system is designed by the Soul Fighters Co-founder and World Champion Augusto Tanquinho and is unique. As evidenced in his career as one of the best featherweight of all times in Jiu-Jitsu and also the results of many champions that he helped to build in these 20 years teaching.     Soul Fighters HQ offers No-Gi programs in both fundamentals and advanced classes. Our curriculum includes attacks and defensive techniques, wrestling, escapes and the class is structured with positional, situational and live sparring.

    No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is the best preparation for MMA and No Gi Competition.

    Self-Defense

    This program was specifically designed to prepare men and women for real life-threatening situations. Our Self Defense techniques provide the knowledge and skills for any person to escape from an attacker, whether he/she is on his/her feet or on the ground. This course is unique because it does not rely exclusively on punching and kicking, as do many other forms of martial arts.

    Punching and kicking do not represent an effective strategy against an assailant who is bigger, stronger and capable of hitting back. In addition, they are useless on the ground, which is where a rapist/attacker is most likely to assault a woman.
